Equine-Assisted Therapy

A gentle, experiential approach to therapy

What is Equine-Assisted Therapy?

Equine-Assisted Therapy / Mental Health (EAMH) offers a gentle, hands-on approach to counselling that combines the benefits of horses, nature, and professional mental health support.
Unlike traditional talk-based counselling, EAMH provides opportunities to explore emotions, relationships and personal challenges through meaningful experiences with horses. Sessions take place in a safe, supportive outdoor environment and may include observing horses, grooming, leading or simply spending time alongside them.
Guided by a qualified mental health practitioner, each session is tailored to the individual's needs, allowing space for reflection, self-discovery and personal growth.

Why Horses?

Horses are naturally sensitive and responsive animals that communicate largely through body language. Their reactions and behaviours can provide valuable opportunities to explore our own emotions, communication styles, personal boundaries and relationships.
Spending time with horses can also encourage us to slow down, become more present and develop a greater awareness of ourselves and those around us.
Through guided equine-assisted experiences, clients can explore ways to build confidence, strengthen relationships, develop emotional regulation skills and discover practical strategies for everyday life.
